Honey Stinger Waffles are tasty, there’s no denying it. And since it is National Waffle Day, there is no better time to talk about this delectable form of running nutrition. Sean (our resident shoe expert, ASICS Aggies runner, and Honey Stinger Waffle enthusiast) volunteered to share his passion with us.
Who says running nutrition has to be limited to gels, chews, and energy bars? If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting already, I introduce you to the Honey Stinger Waffle, a delectable treat that you’ll always look forward to post-run. The first time you try one of these babies, you’ll question whether or not this is actual running food. But trust me, there’s more to it than meets the eye!
- A full list of organic ingredients. Honey Stinger Waffles are completely organic with simple, easy-to-read ingredients.
- Eatability. Not a real word, but it describes this perfectly! A semi-dense, easy-to-chew texture is great on the run, and also easy on the stomach. If you plan on eating one mid-run, our Running Warehouse experts recommend that you make a cut in the packaging first so its easier to open. If there are any complaints about this product, it’s that it is near impossible to get out without crumbling. If you can pull this off, you must be some sort of wizard.
- Great source for quick carbohydrates. With 19g of carbohydrates per waffle, you’ll gain plenty of energy during the run or be able to curb your appetite post-run. Plus you’ll feel like you’re eating dessert before dinner, but without the whole “spoiling your appetite part”!
With all these benefits and a variety of flavors to choose from (Caramel is my personal favorite), Honey Stinger Waffles are a welcome part to any running routine. Happy National Waffle Day!
