Available April 2017 – MSRP $150.00
Since its introduction in April 2016, the Hoka One One Clayton has been one of our best-selling shoes. Runner’s World has also selected it as an Editor’s Choice. Yet, the shoe is not without flaws. Blistering in the arch is a known issue for some runners. Blistering may affect 1 out 5 runners. Hoka has identified the cause as the point of interface between the upper and insole. An inline change is being made to the current Clayton and you can be sure that painful issue won’t be an issue in the Clayton 2.
Other than providing a new insole, the Clayton 2 is getting a new upper. The change is mainly aesthetic. The square-grid overlay pattern of the original version has been replaced by a larger spaced diamond-shaped pattern. We think the new look is better and is much better expression of speed. The fit should not be greatly altered by this change.
The midsole/outsole remains the same. This means the ride of the shoe will be unchanged. Pro2Lite is used to deliver a softer heel and firmer forefoot. The full RMAT outsole delivers excellent responsiveness.
