With the Glycerin 13, Brooks has gone the route of making minor updates from the 12th version and considering some people’s superstitions about the number 13, this may be a wise move. In fact the updates are so minor, this shoe may as well be called the Glycerin 12b.
The updates all have to do with tweaks to the upper to improve what surrounds the foot. The 3D Fit Print, which provides support to the upper and contributes to the overall look of the shoe, has been modified slightly to refine the overall fit. A new dynamic saddle has been built into the midfoot of the upper to improve comfort and security. And the heel collar padding has been bolstered to increase plushness. The midsole/outsole unit remains unchanged, so the forgiving ride of version 12 carries over the version 13.
While there is nothing overly exciting to report
, we do like the look of the new Glycerin and since version 12 has been well received, many runners will be happy the changes are minor.
