New Balance 1080 v3 Sneak Peek
September 28th, 2012
New Balance gave their premium neutral trainer some serious style in its current version, and they’re pushing the design envelope further with the 1080 v3. Beyond a fresh look for the upper and midsole, changes are few – which is fine by us, considering how smooth and responsive the current model is on the road.
What to Watch For
- Lighter Weight: According to published weights from New Balance, the 1080 v3 drops a few tenths of an ounce compared to the current model, with Men’s size 9 at 10.2 oz and Women’s size 8 at 8.0 oz.
- Premium Cushioning: The 1080 v3 continues to use N2 cushioning technology, which enables a lower offset (here, 8mm) without sacrificing a pillowy feel.
- New Crash Pad: The 1080 v3 uses ABZORB foam in the crash pad for added cushioning.
