The Brooks Ravenna 4 is a Runner’s World Best Buy, and we think that the upcoming 5th version of the shoe will have a very good shot at a repeat title, given that the all-new design gets updated technology without any bump in MSRP.
What to Watch For
- BioMoGo DNA: The midsole of the Ravenna 5 uses an integrated BioMoGo DNA foam/cushioning blend, compared to previous models with separate DNA inserts in the BioMoGo foam. The difference? More consistent cushioning throughout the platform.
- Revised Support: Though the Ravenna 5 falls in the same support category as its predecessors, the medial post and thermoplastic shank have been updated to integrate better with the rest of the midsole for an even smoother run experience.
- On a Diet: Brooks lists weights for the Ravenna 5 as 10.3 oz for a Men’s size 9 and 8.5 oz for a Women’s size 7.
- Adjustable Saddle: The V-shaped strap spanning from the midsole to the laces provides a secure wrap for the midfoot and heel.
