Saucony Guide 6 Sneak Peek

Saucony Guide 6 Men's Running Shoe

After the Guide 5 dropped to an 8mm offset and lost about 2.0 oz, Saucony is going easy on the updates for the Guide 6. Still, it looks plenty fresh and is packed with the latest running shoe technology. We expect the Guide series to remain a big seller for the brand.

Launch Date
November 2012

MSRP
$110.00

What to Watch For

  • Deeper Flex Grooves: Deeper cuts in the forefoot of the Guide 6’s platform help to improve flexibility and responsiveness.
  • Redesigned Crash Pad: Three independent pods in the crash pad create a smooth transition from heel to midfoot.
  • Midfoot Saddle: The redesigned upper sports additional midfoot overlays to promote a snug, secure fit.

Anyway you could give me some more info? Im so excited for these!

  • Alice

Thanks for your question. We will have more information about these shoes when we get the chance to test them out in November. Is there anything in particular that you would like to know about these shoes?

  • Jennifer

I’m in the Guide 5′s now and was just about to switch to the Brooks Ravenna 3′s, hoping for some more cushioning. Am I correct that the added midsole thickness will help with that? Also, the only thing that totally bugs me about the Guides is that the tongue won’t stay in the middle, keeps ending up on the side and jamming me. Hoping for an improvement there.

  • Alice

Thank you for your question, Jennifer. We’re expecting the Guide 6 to be very similar to the Guide 5. If you want a moderate support shoe with more cushioning, then you might check out the Asics Gel 3030 here http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpageWRS-A3030W1.html

I too am in the pro grid 5s, mainly because, A) it is the only shoe I can run in and, B) It is the only shoe Saucony makes in a 10.5 4E. Is this shoe going to have the drop?

  • Matt

The Guide 6 will continue to have an 8mm heel-to-toe offset, and will be available in widths in the Silver/Red/Citron color.

“After the Guide 5 dropped to an 8mm offset”

Do we know if the G6 has the same offset or if they’ve increased or decreased it again?

  • Matt

The Guide 6 will continue to have an 8mm heel-to-toe offset.

  • Bill

Will the Guide 6 run true to size? If I’m a size 10 in the Guide 5 should I order a 10 in the Guide 6? Or should I order a 1/2 size up? I’ve heard others comment on the snugger fit so I wanted to check.

  • Alice

Thanks for your question, Bill. We’ve found that the Guide 6 fits true to size. If you wear a size 10 in the Guide 5, we’d recommend a size 10 in the Guide 6.

  • Paul

Bought a pair of Guide 6 on Monday in Milwaukee. Went for my first run–5 miles–yesterday. Awesome shoes!
