Salomon S-Lab Fellcross 2 Sneak Peek
March 7th, 2013
Okay all you crazy fell runners and mountaineers – this sneak peek is for you.
Straight from the legendary S-Lab comes the second iteration of the Fellcross, Salomon’s technical and aggressive trail racing shoe. There are minimal changes with this update – slight modifications to the outsole should improve grip but all in all this will be the same shoe as its mountain-slaying predecessor.
What to Watch For
- Improved Grip: The Fellcross 2 features Salomon’s patented V-shaped lugs for optimal traction over unforgiving terrain.
- Carryover Upper: The upper on the original Fellcross does a great job of protecting the foot from the elements, so why change it?

Hi
would you know if the fellcross 2 are lighter than the fellcross1?
Thanks
Thanks for the question. We believe the weight will be unchanged with the update, but won’t know for sure until it arrives in stock and we put it on the scale.
Will this one be available in a UK12.5?
The Fellcross 2 only will be produced up to a size 12.0 US/11.5 UK. The Salomon Fellraiser, a new model inspired by the Fellcross, will be available in September and will be produced up to a size 13.0 US/12.5 UK. It’s not an S-Lab product, but is designed specifically for muddy conditions. It’ll be about an ounce heavier than the Fellcross, with a 6mm heel-to-toe drop instead of 4mm.
Thanks for the reply, shame about the Fellcross 2 but look forward to the Fellraiser.@Matt
I’ve been using the fell cross for 2 years now and it is certainly the best quality mountain/fell shoe I’ve used. I would say the best way to improve it would be a bigger more agressive stud so I’m looking forward to try it.
