Mizuno Wave Creation 15 Sneak Peek

The Mizuno Wave Creation offers a unique take on the premium neutral trainer. The Infinity Wave plate in the heel, a hallmark of this model, is designed to provide ultimate cushioning without completely disconnecting you from the ground underfoot. The more traditional midsole in the forefoot provides added bounce for toe-off.

The Wave Creation 15 will be an evolution, not revolution, in this cushioning story. While the shoe is completely new, it should retain the key characteristics that have made it a top seller in the premium cushioning category.

What to Watch For

•    Lighter Weight: According to Mizuno, the Men’s Creation 15 should clock in at 11.3 oz, with Women’s at 9.2 oz. That’s about half an ounce lighter than the current model.
•    Redesigned Wave: The fully redesigned Infinity Wave plate is tuned to strike a balance between cushioning and responsiveness.
•    Updated Midsole: Like almost all of Mizuno’s lineup, the Wave Creation 15 switches from AP+ to U4iC midsole compound.
•    Fresh Upper: The print on the upper evokes the Japanese shibori cloth-dyeing technique, which is similar to tie-dyeing. So you can feel just a little more artsy on your next run in the Creation 15.

    Love it! My go-to shoe.

I like the redesigned upper, although, the prints might be a turn-off to some.

    Can’t wait!

When do you expect to do a preview on the new Mizuno Enigma 3 that was actually shown in the Sept RW magazine?

  • Matt

The Wave Enigma 3 will be distributed to brick and mortar retail stores only so we are not going to be bringing it in. Looks like a pretty nice update with the U4iC midsole and lighter weight.

  • David Weeks

Thanks – Is probably not my cup of tea anyhow.. Looking forward to the Mizuno Rider 17 + the Inspire 10…

  • Matt

We’re pretty excited about those two models as well. Very performance-oriented trainers and we think they’ll be a big hit with a wide range of runners.
