Ladies, I don’t know about you, but finding a running shirt or running tank that fits me just right is the equivalent of finding a needle in a haystack…impossible. For ladies like me who are built a bit bigger or bloat on the run, I have picked out some of my favorite relaxed fit running tops for each of your wants and needs. Yes, let’s celebrate loose fitting running apparel!
I’m Looking for Functional:
For the runs where your apparel needs to handle itself, here are some breathable and technical tops that get the job done. Meet the Brooks Women’s Ghost Short Sleeve (pictured), an ultra-light running top that provides optimal breathability for the hot days when you don’t want to be smothered but prefer to stay covered. It’s modest, elegant, and sweat-wicking so that you can run free and comfortable in the warm weather months. Maybe you’re looking for a tank to give yourself a little more freedom? I can’t blame you! Check out the adidas Women’s Tokyo Tank. This tank has a relaxed form that also happens to be lightweight and incredibly soft with a stylish open-hole mesh back for breathability. This guy gives you more coverage than just your sports bra while keeping you nice and cool.
I’m looking for Fashionable:
I can’t blame you for wanting to look fashionable while you’re out running, and if you’re looking for stylish, Lucy is the designer for you. For a modest and artistic design, check out the Lucy Women’s Short Sleeve Workout Tee. If the semi-fitted look is not your style, but you love Lucy’s sweet designs, try the Lucy Women’s Final Rep Short Sleeve. Want to show off your guns and have a little more freedom to move? My go-to is any tank by Lucy, but particularly the Lucy Women’s Graphic Tank Light Triangles (pictured) because of its lavender color and artistic flair. Not feeling Lucy’s designs but still wanting something fashion forward? I’m a big fan of the Under Armour Women’s Geo Run Tank for its technical fabric and fun print.
I’m looking for Simple:
Enough of the nonsense, you just want a top that gets the job done. I hear ya! My any day go-to is the Under Armour Women’s Tech Short Sleeve V-Neck (it also comes in pink) because of its flattering v-neck design and breathable HeatGear® fabric. If you’re more of a tank top runner, my favorite tank for my bloating belly is the Nike Women’s Elastika Tank (pictured). Technical sweat-wicking fabric and a flowy, relaxed fit make this tank an overall winner for the days when I just want to get out and go.

Sierra balances an overflowing schedule of work, college, and running, and can relate to any 20-something who’s trying to figure out life. Her running is her kind of self-care – and also the small amount of time that she gets to spend with herself every day, coming before all else (except her dog, Butters).
