Here we are, at the end of June. We can no longer think of this weather as late-spring… it’s full blown summer, and it’s acting the part. The heat of summer is upon us.

There are a number of strategies to avoid facing the harsh heat on your run. You could run before the sun comes up, or run after the sun goes down. But for some, that is simply not an option. Beyond changing your running schedule, how can you prepare for the heat you will undoubtedly be facing?

Lightweight breathability is the name of the game when it comes to running singlets, but you can turn up the heat (or rather, the cold) on your summer running swag with a singlet that offers technology specifically aimed to cool you down. Here are three of our top singlets that provide a little extra cooling for running in the hottest conditions.

adidas Men’s Supernova Climachill Singlet

adidas_m_supernova_climachill_singletMSRP: $40.00

The cooling technology that adidas has within their singlet’s fabrication is called Climachill. It works through small aluminum dots at the back of the shirt which pull heat away from your skin to create a cooling sensation. If you look at the thumbnail to the right, you’ll see the tiny Climachill dots.

New Balance Men’s Ice Singlet

nb_m_ice_singlet_1MSRP: $40.00

New Balance created NB Ice to enhance cooling when you need it most. Activated by your sweat, the NB Ice fabric gives off a cooling sensation as you perspire. This singlet also features NB Fresh antimicrobial treatment to help you stay smelling fresh for longer, too!

Under Armour Men’s Coolswitch Run Singlet

UA_m_coolswitch_run_singletMSRP: $40.00

Coolswitch is Under Armour’s fabric cooling technology. Activated when your body sweats, the fabric wicks the moisture away from your body and creates a cool feeling. You can see the geometric pattern on the inside of the Coolswitch Run Singlet – that pattern indicates where the Coolswitch technology is applied.
