With the discontinuation of the Nomad, Saucony has filled its place by introducing the KOA TR and KOA ST. Coming this summer, these trail shoes will be ready to take on the terrain that fits your running needs.
Both shoes are similar in terms of fit, midsole and upper construction. The biggest difference, however, is the aggressiveness of the each shoe’s outsole.
KOA TR – MSRP: $110.00
The Saucony TR is the more versatile of the two with a design that should excel on hard packed trails. Featuring a PWRTRAC outsole equipped with 3.5mm lugs, the KOA TR should make for easier running on uneven surfaces.
On the midsole, a layer of EVERUN material rests underneath the sock liner for an enhanced energy return on each foot strike. A woven upper protects from debris and should securely lock in the foot.
KOA ST – MSRP: $130.00
The KOA ST features a similar fit and midsole to the TR, but with added toggle lacing and a more aggressive outsole construction. Instead of 3.5mm lugs, the KOA ST is outfitted with 8mm lugs along the outsole. The larger lugs make the KOA ST a great option for running across soft, muddy terrain.
