The Saucony Kinvara series has been around for seven generations and with it’s simple design and versatility, it has gained a loyal following. Although the shoe has changed quite a bit since its debut, it has always stayed true to its original philosophy of offering a low heel-toe offset, versatile underfoot cushioning, and a lightweight design sufficient for faster paced running. With the Kinvara 8, Saucony took the backbone of the successful 7th version and gave it some minor tweaks to further enhance the Kinvara experience.
The current Kinvara 7 received a responsive update that featured an Everun heel insert. Visually, the Kinvara 8 seems to have the exact same tooling as it predecessor but this time around designers removed the heel insert and instead included the addition of a full-length Everun topsole. This should further increase the sensation of energy return and provide a more consistent cushioning experience. Although the shoe should offer a slightly more responsive feel, we expect runners who enjoyed the 7th version to continue to enjoy the newest Kinvara installment.
The 8th version also receives a nice upper upgrade. The use of a highly breathable mesh design with laser cut perforation offers a stripped down feel with plenty of ventilation. The shoe also continues to use lightweight Flexifilm overlays to keep weight low while providing a secure fit.
