When the trail gets muddy and rough, elite trail runners reach for the aggressively built Salomon Speedcross Pro. Now with an upcoming second model, Salomon introduces a few notable changes alongside the features that made it an exceptional option for fast running through the most difficult trails.
Starting with the addition of a Premium Wet Contragrip outsole, the Speedcross Pro 2 should offer greater traction across wet trail surfaces. Additionally, this new update should be an ounce lighter in weight than its predecessor, due to the number reduction in outsole lugs from 38 to 30. Despite the reduction, the strategic lug placement should help the Speedcross Pro 2 continue to provide ample protection with sufficient grip over muddy, soft terrain.
In terms of upper construction, the Speedcross Pro 2 will still use Anti-Debris mesh to block out debris, and welded Sensifit Overlays to give the shoe a close, secure fit. Injected EVA across the midsole and LT Muscle cushion in the heel should give runners sufficient underfoot cushioning in an aggressively built trail shoe.
