Here at Running Warehouse, the Sense Pro series has been one of the best sellers within the Salomon trail line. Its lightweight design, locked in fit, and versatile traction make it a fantastic option for the trail runner seeking performance. Now, in summer 2017, Salomon will introduce a new member to the Sense family, the Sense Ride. While similar to the Sense Pro and Sense Marin, make no mistake that the Sense Ride packs in its own set of noteworthy features.
One such feature is the use of Vibe Technology in the midsole. First used in the Sonic Series and Sense Max, Vibe Technology is a multi-piece midsole composed of EnergyCell+ foam and two Opal cushion inserts. These two compounds work together to reduce foot strike vibrations and deliver an optimal responsive ride. Yet, unlike the Sonic series, the Sense Ride features a full-length Opal insert across the midsole to boost responsiveness. Additionally, the Sense Ride will offer more midsole cushion than the Sense Pro and Sense Marin. As a result, the shoe should be better suited for your longer trail runs.
On the outsole, the Sense Ride features a Premium Wet Traction Contagrip similar to what’s seen in the latest S-Lab Shoes. This feature should provide your runs with optimal traction over wet surfaces. Additionally, a ProFeel Film paired with flex grooves should give this shoe a combination of flexibility and protection.
