Adidas has boosted pretty much every running shoe in their line and this also applies to their racing shoes. The boost technology is a foam construction method that results in greater energy return than common foams used in most running shoes. Some adidas shoes have a full boost midsole (adidas Ultra Boost), while most are a mixture of boost and EVA foam.
The adizero Adios got boosted in the last quarter of 2014. Many runners liked the ride, but preferred the fit of the regular Adios. Thus, adidas updated the 2nd version of the adizero Adios Boost with materials used from the regular Adios. This update was largely met with positive feedback. However, there are still many runners who prefer the original Adios (maybe because it is $40 less than the boost version). So adidas is bringing it back in February 2016. We don’t know how long it will be around, so if you’re a fan, stock up while you can.
