Since arriving in the US, the Italian company La Sportiva has established itself as an exceptional producer of highly technical trail shoes. Their new weather resistant, La Sportiva Tempesta GTX, will be a welcoming addition to their trail running line-up.

Avid La Sportiva users will notice the Tempesta’s shoe construction resembles the current La Sportiva Mutant. With the Tempesta featuring a similar FriXion AT outsole aligned with V-Groove lugs, this shoe should offer optimal traction on loose, muddy surfaces. Midsole components also match the Mutant, with a Molded EVA foam placed across the midsole to give the Tempesta a cushioned underfoot. Plus, a similar TPU Heel Stabilizer should help keep your heel stable during tough climbs and descents.

What will set the Tempesta GTX apart, however, is the Gore–Flex lined upper that should give the shoe a weather protective design. This paired with an internal Gore-Tex bootie should help ward off snow and water to keep your feet dry during less than ideal conditions. On the top, a durable air mesh layer will add extra coverage from debris without hindering breathability.
