2016 is a big year in the lightweight, 4mm heel-toe offset category. The Saucony Kinvara gets new midsole technology, HOKA ONE ONE introduces the Clayton and Tracer, the Skechers GoRun 5 gets an advanced circular knit upper, and Nike is bringing forth a new FREE model. Not to be left out in the cold, Brooks is making major updates to the Pureflow.
The Pureflow 5 gets a new midsole material, DNA LT. This midsole material is 10% lighter than the BioMoGo DNA midsole found in the predecessor (and most Brooks models), yet retains the adaptive property of being softer at slower paces and a bit firmer at faster paces. The midsole/outsole platform is heavily sculpted to produce a super flexible shoe, and a brand new upper uses no-sew overlays and 3D print to deliver a comfortable and supportive fit.
