The initial round of updated trainers from Mizuno have just arrived and are up on the site.  The Mizuno Wave Rider 13 represents the newest revision to one of our best selling neutral trainer  every season.  We offer both the men’s and women’s models in various widths, with the women’s narrow models arriving in late December:

With the Holidays fast approaching I’m working hard to expand our Accessory offerings so you can make us a one-stop-shop for all your gift needs. Our trip to Austin for the Running Event provided me with a glimpse of several new lines I am rushing to bring into the store. The biggest area of expansion is with our compression line.  When it comes to arm sleeves, calf sleeves, and socks we are looking to provide a wide range of offerings. Already in stock are new items from Zensah, CEP, RecoFIT and Vitalsox. Most of these will be up on the site in the next 3-4 days so check it out.

An additional arm sleeve brand we will be brining in over the next couple of weeks are Moeben arm sleeves. I’ve had mine since 2007 and wore them for the entire distance of the San Diego 100 mile race this past June. Nothing but comfort. And if your tired of black, white and grey wait till you see the Argyle, Flame or Tye Dye patterns.

Also showing up in the next week will be a full assortment of running headlamps from Black Diamond. With the short days of winter in full force, proper lighting is even more important. We will carry the full running line from the compact Wiz to the sturdy Sprinter.

And finally, our watch line will soon include Soleus watches. A new brand in the sport, Soleus watches offer 3 lines to choose from, the 262, the 131, and the 10k (just the names show they are dedicated to the runner) along with 2 basic heart rate monitors, the Surge and Surge X.  They just arrived at our warehouse this morning so look for them on the site by next week.

The Running Event is the annual expo where all the major vendors and the running specialty retailers who sell their products meet see what’s new and catch up. It’s one of the few chance for running specialty accounts to see all the major players together in one location. The Running Event allows all of us to cover a great deal of ground in a short period of time. This year’s event was held in Austin TX and it was the 3rd time I’ve attended.

Major updates to Asics elite level Japan Series spikes lead the way for 2010. The Japan Thunder 3 is lighter, more flexible (thanks to its new split-plate design) and more comfortable. An excellent option for 3K and up. The Japan Lite-ning 3 gets an entirely new upper that reduces weight and provides a secure fit with a bit of stretch. An ideal sprint shoe for any sprint distance.

Mid-level spikes also get updated. The Turbo Phantom 3 gets an integrated midfoot lock-down strap for an excellent fit. This versatile spike is great for turn running, 200m, 400m, and long hurdles. An improved upper is the highlight of the new Turbo Ghost 3. The shoe delivers a more comfortable fit and reduced weight. A great option for athletes running a variety of distance and mid-distance events. 

Although the women’s specific Asics Prima Diva Sprint only receives a new color, it is one sweet looking shoe. And since it has been a perennial powerhouse, it really didn’t need an update. Great for any sprint distance or the hurdles.
